Marlene has been intimately involved at all stages of development of the GST, from the analysis and formulation of the underlying policy, to drafting the legislation itself, to providing testimony before Parliamentary and Senate Committees considering final GST legilation.
With Finance Canada Marlene also oversaw the development of legislation in other areas of commodity tax, such as the federal tobacco tax, the Air Travellers Security Charge and the First Nations Sales Tax.
While continuing to specialize in the area of the GST, Marlene is also becoming involved in the provincial sales tax and customs areas of the Felesky Flynn practice.
