Chad’s practice is focused in tax litigation and dispute resolution with government organizations, including the Canada Revenue Agency. Chad has appeared in the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, Alberta Court of Appeal, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, and Tax Court of Canada and advises clients during audits, objections, and on appeal regarding income tax, GST, voluntary disclosures and other tax related issues. Chad has also defended criminal and quasi-criminal regulatory prosecutions on behalf of individuals and corporations, and advises clients on evasion and other criminal tax offences.
Chad also advises lawyers, accountants, and business owners on tax-effective transactions, corporate reorganizations, succession planning, as well as tax efficient business acquisitions and divestures. Prior to joining Felesky Flynn, Chad worked at an Alberta-based firm in commercial litigation including bankruptcy/restructuring, debtor-creditor law, and tax. Chad is currently serving as the President of the Edmonton Bar Association.
